About
the Everest Peace Project!
The Everest Peace Project is an organization that was founded by Lance
Trumbull. It is an independent organization to Team Everest, but one which
Team Everest is proud to work with as our educational and adventure
partner.
The Everest Peace Project consists of mountaineers who have come together
to promote peace, teamwork, and cultural understanding through the medium
of mountain climbing. The Everest Peace Project is not a religious organization
nor does it have any political agenda. It's mission is to inspire and
to show that people from diverse backgrounds can unite together in a peaceful
manner and accomplish amazing things.
The Everest Peace Project's Schools and Libraries Initiative
The Everest Peace Project's goal is to inspire and educate. Their
mission is to promote a global community of peace and cultural understanding.
An important path to understanding and awareness is education - educating
the heart and the mind. The Everest Peace Project has partnered with Room
to Read a wonderful organization
that is building schools and libraries throughout Asia. Through their
help, The Everest Peace Project has helped fund its second library for
children in Nepal.
Team Everest will partner with the Everest Peace Project
in building schools and libraries in Nepal and other areas of the world.

The Everest Peace Project's Everest Climb for Peace made world
history by uniting people from various cultures and faiths (including
a Palestinian and Israelis) on the tallest mountain in the world. It was
arguably the most important peace climb that has ever happened. During
this time of war and conflict - a peace event like this was needed perhaps
more than any other time. To properly document this history making event,
the Everest Climb for Peace was professionally filmed and award
winning film maker Billy
Marchese of Dezart
Cinematic - is currently producing a professional full-length documentary
that will be destined to be shown across the globe.
Their documentary film – Everest: A Climb for
Peace – will
not be just a "typical Everest film", it will be a socially relevant film
about peace, war and the human spirit - an inspirational and
educational documentary, which also happens to have some of the most incredible
Everest footage ever shot – including a dramatic rescue from near
the summit of Everest. This will truly be a unique and emotionally moving
film.
The film was shot on location in seven different countries: Nepal, Tibet,
USA, Israel, Palestine, Jordan, and the U.A.E.
"The
Everest Peace Project’s film Everest: A Climb for Peace is
a tremendous achievement from several points of view. Not only does it
document a spectacular climb of the world’s tallest mountain, but
it also shows how the project brought together people from different faiths
and cultures, who worked successfully as a team to accomplish their goal.
It reinforces my strong belief that if we adopt the right approach and
make a determined effort, cooperation, trust and understanding can always
be established for a true and worthy cause."
